Ghost Lake Disappointment
On Monday, Victoria Day here in Canada, Rhonda and I picked up our friend Villi to launch the boat. We loaded up our truck full of gear and headed to Ghost Lake. The total amount of gear took the whole box of the truck and the gear was located in the basement of the house. So I needed to make multiply trips of climbing the stairs, going through the kitchen and then through living room to transfer the gear to the truck.
Once we got to Ghost Lake, we notice that there was construction going on at the boat ramp and how low the water level was. The water level is normally low at this time of year ever since the 2013 floods, but this is lower than normal. I talked to Mike, the Ghost Lake Marina owner and he said that the construction of the ramp will not be completed until June 29, 2018 or so. Maybe the ramp will be open on the weekends staring June 9, 2018. Fingers crossed.
Instead of launching the boat, we aired out the boat and then I flew the the drone. I crashed the drone on the lifelines on the boat. I wrecked all four propellers, missed up the gimbal and one of the propeller motor. Rhonda and Villi for some strange reason started talking about brushing teeth techniques and toothbrushes. So I figure I take a closer look at the drone. I grab an allen key and took apart this and that, not really knowing what I was doing. I couldn't see anything wrong so I put it back together. I gave it a test flight and realize that I did nothing. Gimbal not working (Camera very shaky), one motor not working (actually one of the propeller flew off during the test flight). I twisted the motor shaft a little that attaches to the propeller, pushed and prod at the gimbal and just like that I got the drone was working like new. I don't really know what I did but I acted confident when I told Rhonda I fixed the drone.
I guess there is no launching the boat for a few more week. This sailing season will be super short.
After closing the boat and putting everything away, we decided to head to McDougall church that burnt down the previous Victoria long weekend. This happened a few days after the we saved the horse which is in the previous video. There was no excitement like last time but the scenery was still breathe taking.
We went home but witnessed a minor car fender bender. Some guy thought it would be cool to pass multiple vehicles in heavy long weekend traffic. As we were in a go, stop, go, stop highway traffic for 20 minutes, that driver rear ended the car in front of him going about 5 km/h.
Once home we took the rest of the night easy. The next morning after dropping Rhonda off to work, I unloaded the truck and made the multiple reverse trip of going through the living room, through the kitchen and down the stairs. I broke a sweat of the early morning heat. After a quick clean up I pack my stuff and headed off to work.
After looking at the construction picture, I notice that there is a car at the top of the picture. I wondering how it got there because it is normally about 50 feet away the shoreline. The only thing I can think of is that it must of fell through the ice during winter one year.
